[Personality]:
Taokaka is your typical happy-go-lucky, catgirl, although her behavior leans closer to that of a cat than a girl, down to the meow. She loves to eat, sleep, eat and play the day away. Did I mention she loves to eat? The Kaka clan member has experienced very little in the ways of the world, and as such she maintains an air of innocence about her. She can be mischievous (stealing food from shops via the secret passage from Lost Town to Orient Town) and say some mean-spirited things (regarding Noel Vermillion's chest area, or lack of it) but there isn't a bad bone in her body.
She has two modes; the first of which is bursting with energy and determination. Chase down and capture a wanted criminal to bring in money for the Kaka village? She's on it, wandering as far as she can... with no fixed plan or destination, mind you, but she hasn't forgotten her goal. She makes sure to bother anyone who catches her attention, whether it's to beg from them or ask for information (or both). This can even including interacting with and befriending the very criminal she's supposed to capture, whom she fails to recognize. In Tao's defense, the poster wasn't very accurate...
Her other mode is lazy and lethargic, intentionally going off the beaten path to avoid duties she doesn't care much for. Leave her village and go on a journey to better her abilities as a warrior? Nah, Tao would rather go take a nap in the small patch of sunlight that shines down from above. Sometimes the promise of food is enough to get her back on track, but other times something more serious will snap her out of it, like a monster that lurks near the town coming to devour one or more of the Kaka kittens.
It's more of a challenge to get on Tao's bad side than it is her good side. In most cases all you have to do to win her over is to give her food when she asks for it, and she'll be loyal forever. Or just play with her; the definition of playing can range to running around playing tag with her and the Kaka kittens to a friendly spar. She'll go to great lengths for her friends and clan, like following an injured friend headlong into
Tao's intelligence level is a curious subject. It's not clear if she's bad at retaining new information or is just not putting effort into retaining it, but she's a very slow learner. She's a little smarter than she lets on, and knows how to sucker someone into buying her food even if she isn't that hungry, or possibly other favors. She's been known to use big words, but it's unclear if she always knows what they mean. ("Permission? What's that, meow? Is it tasty?") Tao always addresses and refers to people via a simple nickname she assigns them based on a trait they possess instead of their actual names, even if she knows the latter. For example, even though Tsubaki gave Tao her name (and Tao successfully repeated the name back-- which is unusual, because she tends to mangle names), Tao continued to call her "red lady" based on her hair color.
[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:
Strengths:
+ The entire Kaka race was cloned from Jubei, the strongest creature in the world. Beastkin (the half-man, half-animal hybrids created during the Dark War as living weapons) possess superhuman strength, and the Kaka clan is no exception.
+ She's very limber and agile, and her playstyle makes the most of this, allowing her to hop around the stage and her opponents unpredictably. She's also the only character that can triple-jump.
+ She has a "hammer space" in her jacket that she uses to store things in. This can range from plates to wanted posters to cat toys to Kaka kittens... (She won't be bringing that last one to the game.)
+ She has claws that pop out of the slits in the "paws" of her jacket that she uses to scratch and slice her foes, and cling to walls if she needs to. It's unclear if this is a standalone weapon, or a part of Tao's body.
+ Despite her intelligence level being sub-par, she has a slightly manipulative side, if only in the interest of getting food. She's been known to lie in areas with a large population waiting for passerby to beg from. Should that fail, she latches onto them and becomes demanding, which usually leads to a fight.
Weakness:
- Taokaka is stupid, stupid, stupid.
- As such, she's rather gullible.
- Her energetic and/or demanding behavior can be very grating.
- She's easily distracted from what she's supposed to be doing, though lately this is only temporary.
- Her light weight is a bit of a double-edged sword for her-- she's easy to knock around.
- She'll act lazy if she doesn't want to do something.
Other: Have a move list.
[Limited Powers]: I don't think that will be all that neccessary. Sure, she's very agile, but apart from that she has no abilities that put her at an unfair advantage.. Her "superhuman" strength isn't by much, comparatively speaking.
[Other Important Facts]:
- Taokaka often switches between referring to herself in the first and third person. There does not appear to be a consistent pattern to this.
- Although never outright confirmed in the main storyline, she has been consistently shown in official media to mishandle the written word. Iiii am going to partially agree, and say she has a very, very basic reading ability, but her interaction via the journals will more than likely be voice-based. She might doodle in them anyway.
- Upon meeting an unfamiliar female, she will usually work to ascertain their chest size ASAP. By which I mean she will grope them. This is canon. I am so sorry. I will set up a permissions post for this soonish.

[ VOICE ]
Hmmmmmeowmeow... Someone said that if Tao talks at this book, other people can hear it? I don't really get it, buuuut here goes nothing...
[ And suddenly, she raises her voice. Even though there's no need to. ]
HEEYYY!! Good guy? Boobie lady? Cat person? Can any of you guys hear meow?! Tao was supposed to be following the good guy to I... ka... rhubarb or something, but now Tao doesn't see the good guy anywhere. Did we make it, meow?
[ After a pause, she sighs. The lack of an immediate reply disheartens her. ]
Oh well, I'll just wait for them to find Tao. It's nice and sunny here, meow... Tao's just gonna take a nap riiiight here...
